*PLEASE NOTE THAT THE VANOISE EXPRESS LIFT, THAT CONNECTS LES ARCS TO LA PLAGNE, IS CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR MAINTENANCE*
Currently no date has been given for the reopening of this lift.
Les Arcs comprises four modern resorts: Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 1950 and Arc 2000 each with its own distinctive flavour. Arc 1600, perfect for families, overlooks the town of Bourg Saint Maurice below. Arc 1800 is the centre of the action: this is where the lifts converge and has very lively après ski. Arc 1950 offers purpose built convenience with plenty of style and finally Arc 2000 dominates the high ground, surrounded by pine trees at the base of the Aiguille Rouge peak. All four have great snow records and skiing and boarding for every level. Its south facing disposition means sun and the views of the sun setting behind Mont Blanc are astounding. And, when the sun is gone there's is always plenty going on.
The Snow
The recently linked resorts of Les Arcs, Peisey-Vallandry and La Plagne form one of the largest ski resorts in the world with a mammoth 420km of piste, 3 glaciers and 3 summits of over 3,000m. Back in Les Arcs itself, your Learn to Ski pack will teach you stopping and turning on short skis by the "Ski Evolutif" method which had its origins in Les Arcs. You'll be up on the Blues in no time. Kids will enjoy the new safe sledding track in Arc 1800. There's a wealth of slopes between Arc 1800 and Arc 2000 for the intermediate skier. Advanced skiers can try out the challenge of the 7km Black Aguille Rouge. Les Arcs lays claim to be the home of the snowboard and boarders will be delighted to hear there are 2 half pipes and an area exclusive for boarders.
Après ski
There's a lot to chose from in each of the Arcs with Arc 1950 offering variety with a touch of style. Dotted around the village you'll find a nice selection of restaurants and bars to unwind in after an action packed day on the slopes.
