Ski Holidays Kirchberg, Austria
Austria

Want to experience skiing in some of the best skiing terrain in the world and the glitz and glam that comes with it but don't have the most understanding of bank managers? Then Kirchberg, in the heart of the 'Kitzbühel Ski Circus', is the place you've been looking for. Just over the mountain from Kitzbühel itself, the town has quickly metamorphosed from quiet little sis' into a ski Mecca that rivals its more established (and, some say, staid) neighbour in slope accessibility and raucous après-ski entertainment. Attracting a crowd of young Europeans and their Aussie, British and Irish counterparts, you won't need to reach for the phrasebook that often. The world famous Hahnenkamm Race Week is only one of the many ski and boarding related festivals held in this region each season, so there'll be plenty to drag you away from the piste or, perhaps more importantly, the bar during your stay.
The Snow
Kirchberg has something to offer all levels of skier and snowboarder. The gentle nursery slopes of Gaisberg offer the perfect introduction to the sport for those who wish to take it easy and maintain their energy for the evening pursuits. For the more advanced there are over 164km of run included in the Kitzbüheler Ski Circus pass with access by ski bus or cable car from the town. The most advanced skier may wish to face the ultimate challenge and pit their skills against the worlds most difficult downhill, The Hahnenkamm! Boarders can enjoy the half pipe on the Kitzbüheler Horn (1,965m). This year sees the introduction of illuminate night time skiing and a floodlit tobogganing course.
Après ski
Some visitors to Kirchberg may unfortunately never experience the fantastic ski facilities that the resort offers because there is as much activity of the après-ski variety. Bar life is varied. Aussie/British venues such as the London Pub and Boomerang can party all through the night and for a more authentic taste of the Tyrol it's down to the Kupferstub'n. Restaurants reflect the town's cosmopolitan flavour with sauerkraut to pizza and the spicy tortillas of La Bamba.
