Hotel Engel is a small, friendly 3-star in a quiet spot on the edge of Canazei, just a short walk from the village centre. It has a classic alpine look and feel, with lots of wood and a relaxed, family-run atmosphere. Rooms are simple and comfortable, many with balconies and mountain views, and come with TV and Wi-Fi – a straightforward base to sleep well and recharge between ski days.
The heart of the hotel is the cosy restaurant and bar, where you can start the day with a generous buffet breakfast and end it with good, hearty Italian and local dishes. There is a small wellness area with sauna and steam room, so you can ease tired legs before dinner or unwind in the evening.Guests often mention the welcoming staff and the homely feel.
Step outside and you are straight into winter. A walking path runs from the hotel towards Campitello, the cross-country ski trail passes close by, and the ski bus stops just outside, taking you quickly to the Canazei Pecol gondola. From there you are on the Dolomiti Superski network, with access to the Sellaronda and a huge choice of runs across Val di Fassa and beyond. When you come back down, it is an easy stroll into Canazei for shops, ski hire and après-ski, before heading back to the quieter setting of Hotel Engel for the night.
