The Alpenheim Charming & Spa Hotel is a superb value choice for a Val Gardena ski holiday, set on the sunny slopes above Ortisei in the heart of the Dolomites. This welcoming four-star hotel offers bright, comfortable rooms and suites, each with its own balcony and far-reaching mountain views, plus four newly built suites for a little extra space. With flights from Dublin and an easy onward journey, it makes a relaxed and rewarding base for time on the snow.
Skiers are well looked after here. A public ski bus stops just outside the hotel, a free shuttle runs to the lifts, and the slopes of the Val Gardena ski area are within easy reach. Five mornings a week you can join a guided skiing session with an instructor from the Ortisei ski school, a great way to find your feet on the runs without paying extra for the privilege.
After a day on the mountain, the wellness area is the place to unwind, with indoor and outdoor pools, the Soreghina sauna world of Finnish sauna, steam bath and aromatic showers, whirlpools and a peaceful relaxation oasis. Hearty days are matched by hearty food: a generous breakfast buffet, à la carte dinners in the dining room or wintergarden, and a cosy Tyrolean Stube and vinothek serving the best of South Tyrolean and Italian cuisine.
